Manchester Home Solar privacy notice
Last updated: 4 November 2026
This notice explains what we do with your details when you ask for rooftop solar or battery quotes, contact us, or apply to work with us as an installer. We only ask for what we need, and we never sell your details.
Who we are

What do we collect on our forms?
When you ask for quotes Your name, email address, phone number if you give it, borough and postcode, and your answers about the house, the roof, who owns it, your bills, a battery, any plans such as an electric car, and timing. Plus anything you write in the notes box, and that you ticked the box agreeing to be contacted.
When you start on the home page The borough, postcode, house type and roof direction you enter are kept in your browser tab only, to fill in the quote request for you. They reach us only if you send the request.

When you apply as an installer Your company name, your name, email and phone number, the boroughs and work you cover, the certification and insurance you tell us about, and your message.

Who receives your information?
The installer you agree to, and no one else. We pass your request to an installer only after you've agreed to that installer by name. Once they have it, they use it under their own privacy notice. Who sees your request explains each step.
We also use trusted services to run the site. They only use your details to do their job for us.
| Who | What for | What they see |
|---|---|---|
| Zoho (Zoho CRM and Zoho Flow) | Our records of requests, messages and installer applications | Your request or message and contact details |
| Zoho Mail | Sending and receiving email | Your emails to and from us |
| Cloudflare | Hosting this website, security, and a backup copy of requests and messages | Website traffic; request and message details |
| Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity | Site analytics, only if you allow cookies | How the site is used (not your form answers) |
| Our accountant | Our accounts | Records of introductions and fees |
We'd only share your details with anyone else if the law requires it.
Where your details are held
Most of our services store data in the UK or the EU. Some, such as Cloudflare, Google and Microsoft, may process data in the USA or elsewhere. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by UK adequacy rules or by approved contract terms. Zoho stores our records in its EU data centre.
Manchester Home Solar sometimes works from Spain, so your details may be viewed from there. The UK recognises the EU and EEA as giving your data adequate protection.
How long do we keep it?
- Quote requests and messages: [HOW LONG WE KEEP ENQUIRIES] after our last contact with you, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Records of which installer we introduced you to, and when: [HOW LONG WE KEEP ORDER RECORDS], for our accounts.
- Installer applications that don't go ahead: [HOW LONG WE KEEP ENQUIRIES].
- Proof that you agreed to be contacted and to a named installer: for as long as we keep your request, and up to 6 years after, in case we need to show you agreed.
After that, we delete your details or make them anonymous. An installer who has your details keeps them under their own privacy notice.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of your details;
- correct anything that's wrong;
- delete your details;
- stop or limit how we use them;
- move them to another organisation, where that applies.
You can also object to us using your details for our legitimate interests, and withdraw your consent at any time. If you withdraw it, we'll stop contacting you and ask any installer who has your details to stop too.
To use any of these rights, use our contact form. We'll reply within one month. It's free.
Complaints

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk, or 0303 123 1113.

- You don't have to give us your details, but we can't find you an installer without them.
